Who to Follow

Twitter is a scary, scary place. Ok, not really. But it can seem that way when you first start out, especially when you know next to nothing about social media. I want to help. Here is a list of people I think you can learn something of value from and you should follow:

@mashable Social Media giant, Mashable.com is a go-to guide for all things social media. CEO Pete Cashmore tweets a lot of helpful information & links. One of my favs. Twitter Profile: Digital, social media, business, tech, entertainment and mobile news from Mashable.com, the top resource for web culture. Updates from staff. http://mashable.com/

@copyblogger Another Social Media big guy, copyblogger.com is a tremendous resource for online marketing tips, advice, etc. CEO Brian Clark tweets some must-read blog posts and tips. Twitter Profile: Online marketing advice and software that works.

@ThisIsSethsBlog This guy knows his stuff. Seth Godin is a marketing god and churns out useful material like a really talented robot. He's one of those people who touches things and they turn to gold. I know, I hate him too. Twitter Profile: Founder of Squidoo.com, author, blogger. This is a retweet of my blog

@socialkaty Katy Lynch is a Social Media Assassin. Seriously, that is her title. She launched her social media management company, SocialKaty, in 2010 and employs "Social Media Assassins" to take care of her clients. She also started #TravelTuesday. I love following her - and bonus, she always follows back. Twitter Profile: Being social is not an afterthought. We have been designed specifically for social media. For info on our services, contact me directly at katy@socialkaty.com

@Scobleizer Self-proclaimed "geek from Silcon Valley" and blogger-extraordinaire, often blogging on Microsoft. Twitter Profile: Technology news, videos, opinions, from an enthusiastic Rackspace employee who grew up in Silicon Valley and has interviewed more than 3,200 geeks.

@problogger Darren Rowse isn't kidding when he says he's a pro-blogger. This guy knows his stuff. He also writes "TwiTips: getting more out of twitter". Twitter Profile: I blog about twitter and tweet about blogging. Sometimes I blog about tweeting about blogging and tweet about blogging about twitter.

@PuzzledTweeter Me. duh.
